Celebrating 25 Years of Carling PT

January 3rd, 2000 is a day I will never forget. My boss called me shortly before leaving for work to tell me that I shouldn’t bother coming in because he had given my job to someone else. Just like that I was FIRED!

What a horrible way to start a new year and new millennium!

After picking myself up off the floor and giving it a lot of thought, I decided to not search for another job and start my own business. With my passion for physical therapy and with enough contacts in my medical community I felt I could create something meaningful.

It was a slow start. It took time to get credentialed by insurance companies, secure a location and gather enough equipment but in the first week of March 2000 Carling Aquatic & Physical Therapy officially opened its doors.

I still remember my first patient. Her name was Cindy. So it began.

Now, 25 years later, I reflect on the hard work, hard lessons, and incredible people who have been part of this journey. I still love treating patients, working alongside my dedicated team, and being a part of this amazing community. Some days, I wonder if I love it or if I just don’t know any better—but either way, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

To our patients, staff, and supporters over the years: thank you. Your trust, encouragement, and belief in our mission have made this milestone possible.

Thanks to my wife, who never seriously told me to find another job because she knew I loved mine.

I don’t know if I have another 25 years in me, but for now, I’m here, committed, and looking forward to the future.
